No gospel musician had won it in the eighteen-year history of the award, and the win was received as a shift in what Ghanaian popular music was willing to count.
He has won gospel artist of the year repeatedly, tours internationally, and sings in Ga, Twi and English. God of Miracles and Bo Noo Ni are the songs most Ghanaians would name first.
