One of the Big Six who went on to be both Chief Justice and ceremonial President β€” the only one of the six to hold either office.

Edward Akufo-Addo was a founding member of the United Gold Coast Convention and one of the Big Six detained in 1948.

He later served as Chief Justice of Ghana and as President.
