He took a shop on Savile Row when no Black tailor had, dressed it in colour the street had never allowed, and was appointed OBE for it.
Ozwald Boateng is a British-Ghanaian designer known for bold colour, sharp tailoring and African-inspired design.
He was named Top Menswear Designer at the British Fashion Awards in 2000, appointed OBE in 2006, and received the Lifetime Award at ARISE Fashion Week Lagos in 2012.
